In the event of an emergency, passengers and the travelling public can be paged through the public address system in the Airport Terminal. To have someone paged, get in touch with Airport Security at (709) 635-5543 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Airport Security are fully qualified and trained to administer first aid. The airport has a defibrillator on site and qualified personnel are available to respond.

The Deer Lake Regional Airport Authority is committed to providing a barrier-free experience for all of our travelers. We work with airlines, tenants and stakeholders to ensure everyone is able to travel through our airport with comfort and ease.

We recommend contacting the airport and your airline 24 to 48 hours prior to travel or booking to request assistance. Airport Security can be contacted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling (709) 635-5543.
Accessible Washrooms – Washrooms in the main concourse and inside the departures lounge have wheelchair accessible stalls. There is a private, wheelchair accessible washroom available in the main concourse area.
Wheelchair and Mobility Assistance – Arriving and departing passengers should contact Airport Security at (709) 636-2504 to arrange mobility assistance 24 to 48 hours in advance. The airlines will be happy to provide assistance from the check-in counter to your seat on-board the aircraft and from your on-board seat to the baggage carousel with advance notice at booking.
Parking – Accessible parking is available in both the long and short-term parking areas. If you’re parking long term but require parking closer to the Airport Terminal, or if you require assistance to and from the parking area, please contact Airport Security prior to arrival.
Service Animals – Service animals and guide dogs are welcomed in our Airport Terminal. A specific pet relief area for service and guide dogs is available outside of the building and inside the Departure Lounge.
Airline Operators – Please check with your airline operator for any assistance you may require. We recommend requesting assistance at the time of booking.
Shuttle Service – Start Taxi is the exclusive ground transportation service provider at our airport. They provide taxi services to all areas of the region and also operate a shuttle service to nearby Corner Brook. They provide accessibility services including wheelchair accessible vans and can accommodate service dogs. We recommend contacting Star Taxi 24 to 48 hours prior to arrival at (709) 634-4343
Car Rentals – AVIS, Budget, National and Enterprise are proud to offer accessibility options in their fleet of rental vehicles. Advance notice is required. Please visit their website for more information.
