DLRAA supports year-round tourism, business travel, essential services, rotational worker community, supply chain and cargo operations.

DLRAA is recruiting a Director Operations. This is a senior leadership role at the centre of airport safety, reliability, and operational excellence. The Director Operations plays a central role in shaping the airport’s operational maturity, strengthening its safety culture, and ensuring the airport remains a trusted and reliable asset for the region. This is an opportunity to lead a high-impact portfolio, influence strategic direction, and contribute to the long-term success of a community-focused airport authority.

Reporting to the President & CEO, the Director Operations leads all airport operations and maintenance programs, and ensures regulatory compliance and emergency preparedness, shaping how the airport serves the region today and into the future. You are responsible for the systems, people, and processes that keep the airport functioning safely and efficiently every day. As Director, you ensure that operational programs are robust, current, and aligned with industry best practices while also overseeing maintenance planning, fleet and infrastructure management, operational budgeting, and the development of policies and procedures that support safe and effective airport operations. As a member of the senior leadership team, you also contribute to long-term planning, Board reporting, and

organizational strategy.

As an ideal candidate for this role, you hold a post-secondary degree in business or engineering, and hold demonstrated leadership experience, or hold an equivalent education/experience record in a complex environment. You are strategic and have a demonstrated track record of leadership in operations, maintenance, emergency response and regulatory compliance. You are an empowering and energizing team builder and leader with an ability to assess and enhance operational performance and effectiveness, to implement and oversee key performance measurements, and to consistently identify opportunities for improving services and operations. You have enhanced communication and interpersonal skills, are partnership based, value acceptance and are a non-judgmental, approachable, and inclusive leader who is highly compassionate, open minded, flexible, and committed to coaching and further building a cohesive team.
