Equipment Operator (Seasonal) – Deer Lake Regional Airport Authority (DLRAA)

Deer Lake Regional Airport Authority (DLRAA) is seeking two (2) trusted, enthusiastic and optimistic professionals for union position of Airport Technician (Casual).

For more than 60 years, DLRAA has serviced Western Newfoundland and Labrador with regularly scheduled passenger service to and from destinations in eastern and central Canada, with connections worldwide. We’re one of the few airports in the world where you can access three World UNESCO Heritage Sites in one trip! Located just off the Trans-Canada Highway in the heart of Western Newfoundland, every day we welcome travelers of all kinds through our doors. Tourists, business travelers and rotational workers are all greeted with a smile as they connect with adventure, work, family and friends in Western Newfoundland.

The successful candidate will work through the 2027 winter season, and be required to operate a variety of heavy equipment to clear and maintain the airfield, access roads, parking lots, and other airport facilities. They will also apply sand/salt and de-icing products during winter operations. The individual must be capable of safely operating a front-end loader, backhoe, grader, snowplow, snow blower, runway sweeper and other equipment as required. The role also involves performing general maintenance of airport buildings and facilities, and contributing to a safety-first environment where operational excellence and regulatory compliance are paramount.
